Naomi Young is an Israeli artist. She was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel. Jerusalem is a magnificent, ancient city of great history, a crossroads of culture, and vibrant with colors and flavors of humanity. It remains a great source of inspiration in Naomi’s art as well as in her poetry. Her first steps as an artist began at the early age of seven when she received a yellow crayon from her teacher for being an excellent reader. This modest gift meant a lot to the girl who grew up with no art supplies or toys. That was her inspiration and the beginning of her artistic journey later in life. Her path as an artist began only after she registered her youngest son at age seven in an art class and decided to she joined him in class.
This multimedia artist finds expression in many mediums such as oil, acrylics, pastels, and watercolor. She is also an accomplished sculptress and has done extensive work in mosaic pieces as well. Naomi finds beauty in painting vibrant flowers, colorful landscapes, and seascapes.
Through her art, Naomi expresses her yearnings for the beloved city she left behind. As in her poetry, Naomi opens a door and invites you to take a glimpse into her soul. She is fascinated by old doors, “I am always intrigued and drawn to the mystery and potential of what lies behind them.”
Naomi Young is a published writer. Her poetry and short stories are published in magazines and newspapers in English and Hebrew. Her Hebrew poetry book with her art “Whispers of The Heart” was published in 2019. Her bilingual second art and poetry book “Splendor” was published in 2022. Naomi lives with her husband in California. They have four grown-up sons. Israel still remains an integral part of her life and she frequently returns to her homeland to reconnect and spend time with her family.

נעמי צליח יאנג היא אמנית בינלאומית, ילידת ירושלים. אמנם הילדה עזבה את העיר אך העיר לעולם לא יצאה ממנה. נוף ילדותה תמיד חקוק בה. יופיה הנצחי של ירושלים האפופת הוד ומסתורין על כל רבדיה, מגוון האנשים, הצלילים והניחוחות שבה מהווים עבורה מקור השראה עצום. בגיל שבע נעמי קיבלה ממורתה כמתנה על קריאה מצטיינת צבע שמן צהוב, .התחלה צנועה לילדה שלא גדלה עם שפע חומרי. זו היתה פריצת הדרך שלה לעולם הדמיון אחרי שירותה הצבאי בצה”ל נעמי יצאה למסע באמריקה הגדולה שם היא היכירה בפגישה עיוורת את מי שכיום בעלה עימו היא מתגוררת בקליפורניה יחד עם ארבעת בניהם הבוגרים. נעמי היא אמנית רב תחומית המשתמשת בצבעי אקריליק, שמן, מים, פסטל שמן, גיר ופחם. היא נהנית לצייר פרחים, נופים, דלתות, דמויות מן המקרא וכמובן את ירושלים. כמו כן האמנית עובדת עם פסיפס ופיסול, תחום בו היא זכתה במקום ראשון מארגון האמנים אליו היא משתייכת. השימוש שלה בצבעים עזים וססגוניים בולט ומבטא את השמחת חיים שבה והלהט לאמנות בפרט. בנוסף לאמנות נעמי כותבת סיפורים קצרים ושירה שם היא פותחת חלון נוסף להציץ אל רחשי ליבה ונשמתה. שיריה מתפרסמים באמריקה באנגלית ובעברית בעיתונים שונים. ב2019 ספר הביכורים שלה בעברית”רחשי הלב”, עם שירה ואמנות יצא לאור. ספרה השני עם שירה והאמנות שלה “נגוהות אור” יצא לאור בשנת 2022. ניתן לראות את עבודות האמנות שלה בבנין ראש העיר בעירה ובלובי של בתי מלון ובגלריות שונות.
